Prepare to discover why Residence Inn, which offers the right combination of value and convenience, is the best option for a prolonged stay in London.

The company's flagship brand for prolonged stays is Marriott Residence Inn. These properties are typically found all over the world, particularly in business-traveler-friendly locales. The company's catchphrase, "It's not a room," is best known for standardizing the "suite" style accommodation. It's a home.

Under its vast portfolio of brands, Marriott usually provides corporate privileges and other advantages to frequent travelers. Benefits like free breakfast, gym access, in-room kitchens, and laundry are efficiently extended by Residence Inn to all passengers, not just business ones.

Marriott Residence Inns can be found in major cities, but they are also frequently found in less crowded, less expensive areas of a place. There are three Residence Inns in London, two of which are oddly situated practically next to one another.

The Residence Inn was the ideal location for me to set up business when I planned to spend six weeks in London. You can see that the nightly rates for both properties are almost the same after performing a brief rate search.

I was excited to see what the Residence Inn London Bridge would offer when I made the decision to stay there.

The London Bridge tube station is within ten minutes' walk south of the hotel. I discovered that there were lots of eateries, coffee shops, and food stands in the area. It's also just a short stroll from the well-known Borough Market, which I used to visit quite a bit.

Checking in, the desk appeared to be quite normal. The hotel wasn't that busy because I arrived early, although it was just after breakfast.

The quantity of open table space in the foyer area was something I truly enjoyed. There was more than enough space for sitting and working.

I stayed in two different rooms during my visit; they were both one bedroom, but because there was no door, they were really studios with alcoves.

The bed was right beside the door when I initially entered my room. I didn't seem to have this problem, but from what I've read online, this caused others to perceive noises coming from the corridor.

The living area was rather large, and although though the two rooms weren't divided by a door, they felt like whole separate spaces.

These rooms have a modest kitchen furnished with necessities. Consider silverware, dishes, glasses, and pans that were sufficient to get you by. I chose to purchase a few things of my own because I would be staying here for a while, such as a nicer knife, additional cups, and a spatula.

The bathroom was rather contemporary and of a good size. This is actually far better than many other Marriott property restrooms I've seen, and I felt it to be plenty nice for a lengthy stay.

The bed arrangement and ceiling height were the two main differences in the rather identical second room I checked into. This room gave a bit more space and a lot more natural light because it was on the top floor.

The one odd down side of the bed placement was the curtains needed to be completely shut otherwise you will get light directly on you. I found a few streetlights on at night that shined through but it didn’t bother me too much.

The bathroom in this room had a slightly different layout but comfortable nonetheless.

Now for the hotel's true gem: the enormous, well-equipped gym. Although I was aware that a long-term hotel's gym would be mediocre, this well surpassed my expectations.

The amount of space was the feature that I enjoyed the most about it. Even when there were other people there, it didn't feel crowded because it was typically rather quiet.

The 24-hour operation of the gym was a big bonus.

Right by the gym was the laundry machines. Unlike the gym these were very crowded but I leaned on using them later at night and never seemed to have an issue finding space.

Every day from 6:30 am to 9:30 am, the hotel also provides a complimentary breakfast. Since I'm not a big fan of breakfast, I didn't actually eat anything here during my visit.

The early end to breakfast did seem strange to me. I believe that 11 a.m. is the best hour for breakfast at all hotels, but since it's a long-stay establishment, I suppose they don't want guests to depend too much on it.

There was a hot bar, bread, cereal, and a selection of pastries for breakfast.

When I went to look at it, it appeared to be bacon, sausage, hash potatoes, and eggs. The offering was greater than I had anticipated, even though I didn't taste everything. I even saw some takeout containers that you could take back to your room.

Overall, I had a really nice stay in London at the Residence Inn, which had everything I needed. Even though it was a shorter trip, it made me wonder why I don't stay at Residence Inn more frequently.

It makes a big difference to have access to a larger room, kitchen, gym, and other facilities. especially considering that it costs a small fraction of what other upscale Marriott hotels—I'm looking at you, London Edition—charge.

I will most definitely be staying at a Residence Inn again because it truly helped me to see what matters most during a hotel visit.
